Having a potential client confirm that they are booking you for their wedding is always an exciting time. Even more exciting is when they do it from the other side of the world! So while Natasha and Duncan booked me for their wedding back in the summer, I didn’t get to meet them until their Engagement Session this week when they were visiting from the UK. We hit it off immediately and had an awesome time capturing some great images.
Merry Christmas Natascha and Duncan….see you next year!

Whatever the season in the Lower Mainland, there is never any guarantee of good weather so a Plan B is an absolute essential. So, what happens when you have a November wedding with a solid week of rain forecasted and a killer Plan B? Well you get amazing weather and get to use the outdoor locations you thought you had no hope of using of course! It also helps to have the most easy-going laid back bride and groom ever, who are going to have fun and enjoy their day regardless of the weather. Andrea and Brad and their wonderful wedding party were some of the funnest people I have worked with this year and totally made my last wed shoot of the season a blast! Congrats guys! xox

Trying to book an engagement session at this time of year can often be a bit hit and miss and may have to be re-scheduled if the weather is just too unpleasant, but I could not have wished for a better day for Jennifer and Sergio’s E. Session last Sunday. With a May 2010 wedding booked they were hoping to get the pictures done right away. We had a fabulous shoot with beautiful backgrounds, awesome light and fabulous fall colour, and a great time walking around the sea wall and getting to know each other better.
Enjoy the sneak peek Jennifer and Sergio and see you soon!

Last Saturday was a perfect day for some photography at the park. I’ve been photographing Sue’s family for 4 years now, and as always was delighted to be asked back for more pictures. Since it was Halloween, Seth and Oli got to wear their costumes for part of the session and pug, Eddie, came along too to join in the fun.

Here’s some recent pictures from one of my favourite little guys…Kai. Mum Carole has been commissioning me for photographs since Kai was just a bump in her belly. This was our 6th photo session and Kai had so much fun hanging out in the garden, picking apples and swinging…oh to be 4 again! Kai is also extremely interested in photography and requested to see every single image I captured of him….LOL!

The first ever Belly Session I photographed was for my good friend Lisa, just over 5 years ago now. When she phoned me up to say that baby # 2 was on the way and she wanted more pictures, I was thrilled. Here are some images from the session. Congratulations Lisa, James and Oliver on your growing family! xox

I first met Kristi and Elvio back in 2003 when they booked me to photograph their 2004 wedding. Since then I have had the pleasure of photographing them again with their beautiful daughter, Anna, and most recently this August with newest addition Matteo. What a beautiful family….. congratulations!

Ahhhh October 3rd…..another perfect day for a wedding. Gabrielle and I set out in the morning to meet with the girls and with 14 hours shooting ahead of us. After a fabulous getting ready session with amazing natural light, beautiful subjects and to - die - for details we hit the road for West Vancouver. The ceremony took place at Jeremy’s father’s house, a gorgeous setting for an intimate and elegant event, attended by close family and friends. Then it was back to vancouver for photographs in Stanley Park and the hotel and off to Nu Restaurant for a wonderfully stylish reception with an amazing dinner. Despie this being one of the most important days in their lives Angela and Jeremy and their families and friends are some of the most thoughtful people I have ever had the pleasure to work with….always ensuring we had everything we needed and providing us with non stop delicious food all day. “I Do!” hearts you Angela and Jeremy! Congratulations!!

With Angela booking me for her wedding just a few short weeks before the Big Day, we did not have the luxury of lots of time to plan the Engagement Session. We decided on September 15th in the evening and luckily once again the weather was cooperating. However the traffic was not! I was headed from West Van to downtown Vancouver when the Upper Levels Highway traffic hit a complete stop. Radio reports announced that West Van was locked down with 2 gunmen on the loose after a sudden shooting. So I sat in my car on the highway for close to 2 hours with phone calls back and forth to Angela who was getting her make-up done and though thoroughly disappointed that it looked like her session was not going to happen was still positive and understanding of the situation. So….all of a sudden the traffic stared to move….. I made it to Coal Harbour and with less than an hour of decent light left still rocked a fabulous shoot for Angela and Jeremy

Dear Alena and Dave
Thank you for visiting my web site from the other side of the world (Australia). I was so delighted when you decided to book me for your photography before you even met me!! Your bubbly, easy going and outgoing personalities made our day a breeze and your families and friends were beyond wonderful to work with! Gabrielle and I enjoyed every second working with you……it sure didn’t feel like work
Love and hugs…all the best in this new chapter of your lives together! xox
