Jessica’s Family - August 27th, 2010

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica’s wonderful family earlier this summer and was thrilled when she called again asking if I could do another session right away. Husband Joe’s Mother, Mary, and sister, Sarah were visiting from the US and they wanted to capture some special moments with Mary. Mary is such a beautiful woman with a fabulous smile and engaging personality…..you would never guess that she has been battling Stage 4 breast cancer for the past 4 years. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Wendy & Gino - August 21st, 2010

Monday, August 30th, 2010

After first meeting Wendy and Gino over a year ago, and then shooting a fabulous E. Session with them earlier this year, I knew that their day was going to be simply amazing. Saturday arrived with perfect photography weather…. not too warm and slightly cloudy skies.

I set off with Sherri Lu for our first location which was in Port Coquitlam with the girls getting ready. Wendy looked simply gorgeous and had some stunning accessories for me to photograph. Then it was off to Vancouver to meet Gino and the guys and of course for Wendy and Gino’s romantic “First Look”.

Wendy had put together a detailed timeline for the day with tons of time added in for traffic, delays and driving, so despite downtown being super busy, we were still able to shoot at all 3 of her chosen locations. The time just flew by and everyone was having so much fun, and before we knew it Marilyn Knipp had married the happy couple and it was time to celebrate. The Brock House, as always served an amazing 5 course dinner, the speeches were heartfelt and memorable and it certainly didn’t feel like 11 hours had passed since we were heading out to meet Wendy in PoCo.

It’s been just fabulous working with you Wendy and Gino, hope you have a fabulous cruise and enjoy your sneak peek!

Jenn & James - August 14th, 2010

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

I was excited to meet Jenn and James for the first time just a few days before their wedding. Jenn had booked me to photograph the big day last year, but since they live in Texas, all our communication had been via email. I had already read lots of the great details of this 40’s themed wedding and was excited to hear more and start shooting.

August 14th must have been one of the hottest days of the year with temperatures approaching 34 degrees. Jenn and James exchanged vows in beautiful St Mary’s Kerrisdale, then it was off to Cecil Green for a fun photo session with the bridal party.

Accomplished swing dancers, Jenn and James kicked off the party swing dancing to “Popsicle Toes”

Katrina & Cameron - August 6th, 2010

Friday, August 13th, 2010

I knew when I first met Katrina and Cameron that their wedding was going to be fabulous, and after our engagement session fell in love with their fun loving personalities. So I was hugely excited to be heading out with Libby last Friday to photograph their big day. We started out in Port Moody with getting ready pictures of the guys and the girls…..Katrina looked absolutely stunning in the most gorgeous lace gown. Then it was off to the Brock House where Katrina walked across the lawn for her “first look” with Cam. Bridal party pictures followed and before they knew it, Katrina and Cameron were saying “I Do!” in a beautiful ceremony performed by Marilyn Knipp. Jeanette Kornelson of DeLovely Creative outdid herself with stunning and unique decor, and the Brock House, as always served a delicious dinner. What a whirlwind of a day, it seemed like we had barely started as the newly married couple danced to David Gray’s “Sail Away with Me”….. so romantic!

Fashion at the Hyatt

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Last Tuesday & Wednesday I was excited to be heading downtown to work with Vancouver’s hottest fashion designer Malene Grotrian along with a fabulous hair, makeup and accessories team in the Presidential Suite at Vancouver’s Hyatt Hotel. An invitation only event, members of the fashionable “Chic Chicas” were invited to attend for an evening of champagne and fashion and seven lucky Chicas were selected for a complete makeover and chance to be dressed by Malene herself. Make up artistry was by Jessica Weiss, hair by Emma Miller of Hype Hair Studio, shoes by Simone Lauridsen of Friis & Company and jewellry by Zuka.

Lisa & Chris - July 17th, 2010

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Yesterday was just a perfect day! I was excited to head out to North Vancouver to photograph Lisa and Chris’s wedding at the new Pinnacle Hotel. We started off with some details and Lisa getting ready and by the time she was ready to meet Chris she looked truly stunning in a dress and jewellery from Isabelle’s Bridal.

The “First Look” took place on the ballroom floor with Chris looking handsome and waiting nervously for his bride. Lisa arrived in the elevator and as soon as they saw each other I think most of the nerves disappeared. Then it was time for photos and this was so much fun with Lisa being up for pretty much anything.

Samantha Berry from Dreamgroup did a fabulous job of keeping everything perfectly on time and Hot Wax DJ had the best tunes going all evening….so great to work with so many awesome industry people in one day.

Before they knew it, it was time to get married and they exchanged vows infront of family and friends in the ballroom that had been beautifully decorated by Denise Halfyard of Halfyard Designs.  Then it was time for dinner, dancing, more photos and before I knew it I was headed home and excited to download the cards.

Congratulations Lisa & Chris! What a beautiful day!

Erin’s Family 2010

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

I’ve been photographing Erin’s family for the last 5 years when Finn was just 1 and Macey and Tilly were not around yet. Since they all live in New Zealand it’s extra special for me that a big part of their annual visit back to Canada is a photo session, so of course I was thrilled to receive an email from Erin a couple of weeks ago to let me know they would be in town. We met up last Thursday for an awesome session at the park.

Erin and Rod it was so great to see you and the children again….wonderful to see them growing up. Thanks once again for trusting me with your family memories!
