One of the great things about being a Wedding Photographer in BC is the diverse range of weddings from different cultures that I am chosen to photograph. One of my favourites is Persian weddings since they are so rich in tradition and have amazing details. I was thrilled when, earlier this year,  Sahar and Sepehr decided to have me photograph their day. You may recognise them from their engagement session back in July. An amazing venue (the Bayshore Hotel), fabulous flowers and decor (Tala Florist), awesome guests and of course a  gorgeous couple all added up to a fabulous day and some stunning photographs.

A week and a half ago I enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Alison’s family. She had contacted me to set up a family session to celebrate her parents’ Golden Wedding Anniversary and had gathered family from all over. It was wonderful to see her parents with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nello is the brother of one of my brides from several years ago, so I was delighted to get a call from fiancee Nicole requesting a photo session. Since Nicole is from Panama, the couple will be having a destination wedding, but still wanted to get some fabulous pictures in BC. They chose Burnaby Mountain for their location, a favourite place for them and also the spot where Nello proposed back in May. Once again we totally lucked out with the weather.

Second wedding up for the weekend was Tanja and Richards’. Gabrielle and I set off in a complete downpour but by the time we arrived at Tanja’s Mum’s house the rain was easing off and even a bit of blue sky was appearing. We did not expect to get a super sunny day and be able to go ahead with the outdoor ceremony, but that is exactly what happened. So, with an all star line up of vendors: Jinesa and Theresa from Pamper me Pretty for hair and make up, Oasis Flowers, Cecil Green for the venue and Karen Ell to perform the ceremony….everything went perfectly. Tanja looked adorable in a gorgeous gown and shoes from the UK. Since Tanja (from here) and Richard (from UK) live in London now much of the planning was done from 1000s of miles away and it all went without a hitch.

This double wedding weekend started out with Val and James’ beautiful day. How lucky were we to have a complete rain free day and perfect shooting weather. The team from Pamper me Pretty ensured that all the ladies looked gorgeous, then it was off to  Minoru Chapel for the ceremony and downtown for the photoshoot. The day was completed with a fabulous dinner cruise out to West Vancouver and back.

After scorching hot weather through most of July, the last day of the month was no exception as Gabrielle and I set out to meet Krista and her bridesmaids for some getting ready pictures at the River Rock Hotel and Casino. Krista looked picture perfect. After photographing the excitement of getting ready we headed off to Minoru Chapel and Park for the ceremony and photographs. Then it was back to the River Rock for a stylish cocktail reception.

Cristina and Larry recently held a fabulous cocktail reception at Stanley Park Pavillion. Since were married earlier this year in Portugal and live in Ottawa (where they had also held a reception), they wanted to hold a celebration in Vancouver for all their friends and family here. So with Chinese dancing lions, a fabulous jazz band and tons of adorable kids the event went perfectly. Cristina wore an amazing red dress that had been designed and hand made for her complete with Fluevog shoes. What an amazing couple…who else could pull off three weddings in one year?!
