Jennifer & Sergio - May 15th, 2010

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Getting to know Jennifer and Sergio over the past year has been awesome. We did a fabulous downtown Engagement Session last Fall and met and chatted on the phone a number of times. So when their Big Day finally arrived I was so excited to be setting out with Libby to capture the full day of celebrations. The weather was perfect, Jennifer was absolutely stunning with make up done by Nadia Albano, a classically elegant dress from Isabelle’s Bridal, and together with her handsome groom, Sergio, these two made a picture perfect couple. With so much love for each other and surrounded by the love of so many family members and friends, I felt truly honoured to have been chosen to capture their day.

Driving home after the reception I couldn’t wait to start  downloading the images and choosing some for the blog. Sleep finally got the better of me, but I was back up early and less than 24 hours after Jen and Serge tied the knot, here is their Sneak Peek….Enjoy!

Erin & Ferd’s E. Session

Monday, May 10th, 2010

One awesome session down and one to go. I headed downtown to meet Erin and Ferd, my July 3rd couple. They were accompanied by the uber gorgeous and friendly Tilly (their Golden retriever) and Erin’s sister, Darcy. I just want to say a big thank you to Darcy, because while having your dog in the pictures is wonderful, you likely don’t want them in every picture, so having someone to look after them while they are not modelling is essential. Thank you Darcy for keeping Tilly entertained during the afternoon!

Erin and Ferd are awesome…besides being totally in love with each other they are not camera shy and totally loved all the photography direction and ideas. Their Big Day is going to be fabulous and I can’t wait to photograph it (too bad Tilly won’t be there!)

Enjoy your Sneak Peek!

Cathy and Vic’s E Session

Monday, May 10th, 2010

No weddings for me this past weekend! Instead I was out shooting 2 Engagement Sessions on Saturday.

First up was Cathy and Vic. Cathy had told me she was a little disappointed that Vic would be sporting his Playoff Beard for the pictures, but I suggested they bring their Canucks’ shirts out to wear for part of the session. They gladly agreed and I’m sure their cheering when I asked them to imagine that the Canucks had just scored helped the team win last night.

Cathy and Vic are geting married at The Vancouver Club in just 6 1/2 weeks and I am so looking forward to their Big day.

Enjoy your Sneak Peek and see you soon!

Min & Paul, May 2nd 2010…The Wedding

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

One thing I say to all my Clients is….”You can choose your Vendors, but you can’t choose your weather. And so long as you make sure you have a good back up plan for bad weather, everything will be fine.”

Min and Paul took this advice to heart and made sure they secured some of the very best best Vendors for their wedding today….. The Brock House for the Venue, Denise Halfyard of Halfyard Designs for flowers and decor, Hot Wax Mobile Music for sound, Jeweliette for stunning hair pieces, Blush Bridal for a to-die-for dress, Diane Brown to perform the ceremony, cake from Ganache and of course myself and Libby for amazing photography :-) Since the weather was beyond awful it also helped that their bridal party were total troopers and smiled, laughed, constantly helped Min with her dress and never once complained through what was admittedly a very wet photo shoot……with a good back up plan.

Despite the weather, this was one of the most lovely weddings I have ever had the priviledge to photograph.  Despite a few hiccups in the morning ranging from parking tickets to being denied access to the Brock House because of the BMO Marathon and being told to walk in (!)…we figured that out pretty quickly!!,  the girls’ getting getting ready was fun and light hearted, the ceremony was tearful and heartfelt, the lunch very delicious, and the Elvis impersonator a surprise. Despite being cold, wet and tired at the end of the day I simply could not wait to get home to download the images and select a few (OK …more than a few this time!!) for my blog.

Min and Paul, it has been a pleasure getting to know you since last year, and wonderful to see all your dreams and plans come together today. Congratulations once again from Barbara and Libby….”i Do!” hearts you! We also wish you a safe and wonderful trip back to China for your wedding celebrations with family and friends.

Wendy and Gino’s E. Session

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

I spent a fabulous afternoon today photographing Wendy and Gino. After our initial meetings last summer I couldn’t wait to see them again…they have the most wonderfully infectious personalities helped along by Gino’s fairly wicked sense of humour. Totally gorgeous and totally in love these two were an absolute dream to work with and I can’t wait for their August wedding at the Brock House.

Enjoy the sneak peak guys and see you soon!
