High School Sweethearts, fabulous venues, one of the best bridal parties ever and the cutest flower girls…..I have the best job in the world!
After an awesome E. Session back in May, I couldn’t wait for this wedding day. It was a whirlwind of excitement with Erin and the girls getting ready at Terminal City Club and off to Holy Rosary Cathedral for the most beautiful ceremony. Father Dion has known these two since high school and shared some lovely stories during his homilie. The bridal party totally rocked the photo session and then it was back to the hockey-themed reception at Terminal City. The guests were already going crazy waving the towels the couple gave as favours, but when Ferd skated into the room on rollerblades the crowd went nuts!
The whole day was a blast and I would like to thank Erin and Ferd once again for trusting me their once in a lifetime memories. You guys are the best and I hope you have the most fabulous time in Europe. xox

I met Jessica about a year ago and I was truly delighted when she invited me to her home on Saturday to photograph her family. Jessica is one of the most beautiful people I know, both inside and out, and her husband Joe and children Jocelyn and Caleb are equally wonderful. Add to this the stunning setting of Lion’s Bay where they live, some perfect late afternoon sun and cloud and we were set to create some fabulous images. It was too hard to decide which ones to post here so I’ve put up more rather than less, and I can’t wait for our next session in October!

Saturday morning I was up early to meet Katrina & Cameron for their E. Session. This was definitely one of the funnest shoots I have had in a while, and Katrina and Cam were up for pretty much anything, and had even brought along some balloons as props. We discussed lots of ideas for their wedding photography and needless to say I am beyond excited for their Big Day in August now.
Enjoy the preview and thanks again for letting me keep the balloons for Saturday afternoon’s family session…. 2 year old Jocelyn absolutely loved them!

I’ve known Cath for years and we worked together on lots of wedding when she was a Wedding Planner with Sweet Beginnings. So when she called me last year to tell me she was getting married and had always wanted me to photograph her wedding, I was thrilled. After a fun E Session last month I was excited for their Big Day.
Once again the weather forecast changed on a daily basis from sun to rain and when Friday finally arrived I was so happy to see blue skies with a touch of cloud. Gabrielle and I headed down to Terminal City Club to meet Cath and her entourage and photograph stunning details in a gorgeous location. Then we headed a couple of steps next door to the fabulous and stylish Vancouver Club for the ceremony and reception. And of course, Jodi and Lisa from Sweet Beginnings were on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Cath looked absolutely stunning and with her handsome groom Vic at her side they made a beautiful couple.
It was a true pleasure to work with you once again Cath and see you as the Bride this time. I hope you nad Vic have a fabulous cruise and wish you all the best for this new chapter of your lives . xox

The sweetest clients, some of my favourite industry people, an amazing venue and perfect weather all added up to create a fabulous Wedding Day for Neeta and Mike. We had already done an Engagement Session earlier in the year, so knowing how wonderful they are to work with I was really excited for this day. We started off in North Vancouver where Team Pamper me Pretty were already hard at work. Jinesa and Nicole - you did an awesome job making Neeta and her Bridesmaids simply stunning!
Next stop was with Mike and his parents downtown and then off for one of the loveliest first meetings I have ever seen for a Bride and Groom. Neeta and Mike chose to have the majority of their pictures with just the two of them, and this was fabulous as we had tons of time to play and get creative. Amazing how the time goes so quickly when you are having so much fun…. I could have easily photographed them for a couple more hours.
Two hours to go to the ceremony we headed down to Stanley Park for family and Bridal Party pictures and then back to the Stanley Park Pavillion for the beautiful ceremony performed by Diane Brown.
With the majority of the photographs taken care of, Neeta and Mike were free to spend all their time with their guests and enjoy the delicious dinner while I continued to capture candids throughout the evening. After dinner the party got started right away, and the always amazing Hot Wax had pretty much everyone up and dancing as I packed up my gear and headed home.
Neeta and Mike it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you and work with you over the last year. I was so happy to see everything work out so perfectly for you yesterday. Enjoy your Sneak Peek and have a fabulous time in Whistler. xox

Coming home from shooting 11 hours at yet another fabulous wedding, but honestly…tired, sweaty and just plain exhausted, I opened up my email to read this from Kyle…my Groom from last night…
“Barbara, I have to say, I love this decade! Between the iPhones and your masterful ministrations, we wake up to wonderful pictures of the previous wonderful night! They’re lovely. Lovely. I can tell you truly know a moment when it’s happening, and you show so much of its meaning with angles, lighting and perfect timing. For the first time in my life, the complete way I’m exposed in a photograph doesn’t make me shy, but joyous. Thank you”.
Wow! I love what I do sooooooo much!!

Yesterday was another beautiful day and I was excited to head to one of my favourite venues - The Brock House - for Lisa & Kyle’s wedding. What a fabulous day this was! Filled with love, exuberance, quirkiness, poets and writers - Lisa & Kyle exchanged heartfelt, personal vows infront of their loved ones. Afterwards we had a whirlwind photoshoot on the beach followed by the always fabulous Brock House cuisine. I have to say that all of the speeches were so well written and beyond entertaining. Amanda and I snuck away whilst the Bride and Groom partied the night away.
It was late when I got home and I’m shooting another wedding today, but just couldn’t wait to get a preview up. Lisa & Kyle I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I hope you have a wonderful time in Tofino! xox

It doesn’t seem any time at all since Allie contacted me a few years ago asking if I would photograph her first pregnancy. Last week I met up with them for their sixth photo session! I can’t even begin to describe what a huge compliment it is to be invited back so often, and especially to see the wall of photographs Allie and Brad have in their home, all beautifully framed and all photographed by me!! Once again we had a super fun shoot with Campbell and Rory, it is so cool to see these 2 little boys growing up.
Enjoy the pictures everyone and look forward to seeing you next time!

Yes, it’s the middle of wedding season but I still have lots of time to photograph bellies, babies, kids and families.
Last summer I was thrilled to photograph Lisa’s second pregnancy, and met beautiful new arrival Esme a few weeks ago. I love photographing these guys…they are so much fun to work with!

So just a couple of days after Grace & Chris’ E Session I was busy packing up my gear to head downtown with Tracie DeCecco to capture their Big Day. We had an early start at the Bayshore for getting ready pictures…..Grace is a girl after my own heart, with to-die-for shoes! I could have spent at least an hour just on the shoes….
So then it was off to the Stanley Park Pavillion for the beautiful outdoor ceremony. Blue skies and sunshine provided the perfect backdrop as Grace and Chris said beautiful vows they had written themselves. After a stylish lunch and fabulous first dance we headed back into Stanley Park for the first part of the photo shoot and then downtown, where Grace proved she was one of the best brides ever to do anything to get the shot….including a really precarious pose on a high wall. The evening was finished off with Grace wearing a stunning cheongsam for her evening dinner.
Grace and Chris…Tracie and I had so much fun working with you. We wish you all the best in your new life together and of course hope you have the BEST honeymoon in Tahiti!! (Jealous much!)
